To fix a blurry picture taken with a camera, you need
special software designed to manipulate photos. Making the picture crisp
in regards to focus is pretty much impossible, but it is possible to
lessen the blur.
One solution is a software program called Unshake, available for free on the Internet. The program is written in Java,
which allows it to work for both the Mac and PC and allows for varying
degrees of "DeBlur", which you can adjust accordingly to achieve the
best results. The end results will vary depending on how blurry the
picture is to begin with. In the below picture, we have a blurry shot of
an Intel 486 processor and the same picture that has had the blur removed using this tool.
Due to how the Unshake program is programmed and designed, it can be slow to process larger images. A 10 megapixel
picture will likely take several minutes to process. It is recommended
that you experiment with the settings of the program on a smaller
picture first, to get a feel for how it works and what settings work the
best for your purposes.
How do I resize an image?
Another important thing to note is that the higher the amplification done on a picture, the higher chance of noise
artifacts and etching that you will see in the results. Again, this is
something you will want to experiment with to get an idea of what the
results will be based on the various settings in the program. Also, keep
in mind that this isn't like the movies where you can enhance an image
to perfection.
Adobe
is also working on a similar feature for their products, but the cost
for Adobe products is higher. Adobe Photoshop is likely to have this
feature soon, and a full copy of this software can cost over $500. It
is an excellent program for photo manipulation and can do a lot of
things that other photo editing software programs cannot, but it does
cost a lot to get those features and capabilities.
